We need volunteers to help on Sunday, June 10, at the ninth annual Dunedin Rotary Triathlon at Honeymoon Island State Park. Volunteers must be on site by 6 a.m., but the triathlon will be over by 10 a.m.
Nearly 900 athletes will swim ¼ mile, bike for 12 miles and run a 5K race starting at 7:30 a.m. Volunteers can work in any area that you want including the swim, bike or run cousres, transition and food.
The Dunedin Rotary Triathlon generated $30,000 in net revenue last year and every dollar went back into the local community to pay for Dunedin High School scholarships and other Dunedin needs.
Please contact one of these three Rotary Club of Dunedin members if you want to help:
- Chuck Dean: chuckdean1@yahoo.com or 727.692.3978
- Dottie Hemond: dottie@securemeinc.com or 727.434.3700
- Bill Francisco: bill@adsharp.com or 727.480.3104
Your friends and family are welcome to help too.
The Triathlon is a fun and inspiring event. Men and women or all ages will participate. Some will be professional triathletes and some will be ordinary people who are competing for the first time. After the race there will be plenty of food and refreshments for everyone including free beer from the Dunedin Brewery.
