Here We Grow Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization, is seeking assistance in filling The HWG Foundation, Inc. Diaper Bank.

Our diaper bank provides free diaper supplies to children and families experiencing diaper need in Pinellas County, Florida.  Since opening, January 7, 2013, we have been doing our best to accomodate the families that have been referred to us by partnering social services agencies, including 2-1-1, Pinellas Healthy Families, etc.  

Our supplies are depleting faster than the donations are coming in.  We are asking individuals, churches, organizations, groups, schools, businesses and agencies to support the diaper bank by donating diaper supplies (disposable diapers-all sizes, baby wipes and rash cream) or dollars; sponsoring a diaper drive or serving as a drop off point for diaper donations.  

1 in 3 mothers have difficulty supplying their child with diapers, a basic essential in keeping infants and toddlers healthy and happy.  Diaper need results in a child spending a day or longer in a wet and soiled diaper.  This leads to several health issues including diaper rash, diarrhea, hepatitis A and viral meningitis. Helping to ease the growing diaper need also allows parents to place their child in early learning settings to prepare for entry into kindergarten as well as gives parents the opportunity to seek and obtain education and employment opportunities.

Cloth diapers are not an option because they are not accepted by childcare facilities and laundry facilities discourage washing cloth diapers in their facilities for sanitary reasons!

Help us to eliminate diaper need in an effort to reduce health issues due to diaper need; boost percentages of Pinellas County children who are kindergarten ready; and allow parents to attend school, training and work and move up and out of poverty.

We especially need disposable diapers sizes 3 - 6.  All work done by the foundation is volunteer so all donations will be used to purchase diaper supplies!   Thank you for your support in healing economic disparities in Pinellas County communities!
