Are you Tampa Bay’s next rising teen idol? Do you have what it takes to make the crowd go wild? If so, producers with Dunedin’s “Teen Idol 2012” want you.
Open auditions for Teen Idol 2012 will take place on Tuesday, April 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Dunedin Community Center. Auditions are available for teen singers age 13 to 18. Audition slots are first-come, first-served. Performing for a panel of judges, the top ten acts from Tuesday night will head on to the finals show — Friday, May 11 at 7 p.m., to be in front of a sold-out audience and three local “celebrity judges.”
Catch the excitement as several former contestants in “Teen Idol” have gone on to make it big! Jeremy Rosado, a finalist on American Idol Season 11, took first place in last year’s show. Alex Amor of St. Petersburg and Aubrey Wollet of Dunedin are also two names that one might recognize, as both have landed successful recording contracts and have appeared in Teen Idol.
The finals show in May will be hosted by Ann Kelly from Magic 94.9FM. Tickets will go on sale later this month.
