A body was found Friday morning along the Dunedin Causeway near Honeymoon Island.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating, according to a media release.
The body appears to be located just before Royal Stewart Arms, a 55-and-older condominium community. The location is a popular fishing spot.
Traffic was blocked in the westbound lane of the causeway near where the body was located.
The south side of the pedestrian trail on the bridge, an extension of the Pinellas Trail, is also closed to the public.
