A distinct Veterans of Foreign Wars memorial, made of stones from each U.S. state, is being rededicated today after it was moved from a downtown parking lot.

The ceremony honoring veterans features the Dunedin-Palm Harbor VFW Post 2550, Dunedin High School's Navy JROTC, Mayor Dave Eggers, and representatives from Congressman Bill Young's office beginning at 2 p.m. in Edgewater Park.

The memorial was constructed near the Dunedin Municpal Marina in 1970 to honor all those who served in the United States military. The asphalt parking lot developed around it years later.

Officials had the stone memorial moved to a location just 100 feet east, inside Edgewater Park in May, to open two parking space, and to put it in a more appropriate and reverent location.
