Deputies: Suspect Hid Under Couch Cushions
MT Carnell "CJ" Jacobs, 20, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after a violent rage ended with him hiding from authorities under couch cushions in a shed on the 600 block of Lyndhurst Street Dec. 13, Pinellas County deputies report.
A man on Lyndhurst Street is in custody after an alleged rage led to domestic battery and him hiding from deputies under couch cushions late Dec. 13.
Pinellas County arrest records report that MT Carnell "CJ" Jacobs, 20, of the 600 block of Lyndhurst Street, went on a violent rage around 11 p.m. that resulted in damage around his home where he lives with his mother.
Jacobs' mother reportedly asked him to leave the house and he responded by shoving her in the chest, Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies report.
Arrest records report Jacobs showed signs of being under the influence of drugs.
Jacobs was allegedly aware that deputies were called to the house, so he went to the shed outside his home to hide and sent his girlfriend, Lauren Ashley Poteat, 19, outside to talk to authorities, deputies report.
Although, Poteat knew Jacobs was hiding, she told deputies that he had left.
Deputies said Jacobs was found hiding under several couch pillows and other objects inside the shed.
Jacobs was arrested and charged with felony domestic battery, misdemeanor violation of probation for dating violence, and misdemeanor resisting an officer without violence.
He has been arrested three times this year on misdemeanor charges of dating violence, criminal mischief and loitering and prowling.
Jacobs was also convicted on Nov. 9 for a previous battery charge.
He is awaiting trial at Pinellas County Jail without bond as a result of violating conditions of his probation.
Poteat, of 540 Kirkland Circle, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor resisting an officer without violence. She was released on her own recognizance on Dec. 14.

Has been very quite on our street in last week. With SO walking on street and this one in jail traffic has slowed down. Thank you SO, keep up the good work, your presence is working. Truth is Mom was who called SO with both Criminal Mischief charges and this call that resulted in arrest not neighbors. Not so innocent after all..
