The Dunedin Blue Jays postponed Sunday's planned Chili Cook-Off because of Tropical Storm Debby.

The Chili Cook-off, a fundraiser for RCS Food Bank, is rescheduled for Tuesday, June 26, at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, 373 Douglas Ave. It will begin at 5:30 p.m., with setup at 5 p.m.

The game against the Bradenton Marauders, originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday, was also postponed. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader Monday beginning at 5 p.m.

Today’s rainy weather is largely a result of Tropical Storm Debby, currently moving through the Gulf of Mexico and projected to make landfall later this week. While Debby isn’t expected to strike Florida, showers and strong storms are anticipated in the Tampa area at least until mid-week.

For more information about the weather and a complete seven-day forecast, visit the National Weather Service online.

I'm seeing/hearing from folks in the community that Causeway Boulevard, Edgewater Drive and Douglas Avenue are severely flooded. Please use caution — or better yet, don't drive if you don't have to!

If you see any places where drivers should use caution, please share!

I live in Island Towers (Woodette Drive off Causeway Blvd.) We had water up to the bottom of our fishing dock for a while, and some ponding on our grass, but our parking lot didn't fill with water, and neither did our street. I guess we have great draining, and we are directly waterfront property! Across the street, not direct waterfront, the grounds were filled with water. I never worry here at Island Towers. We've been pretty lucky!
