A Dunedin High School student has been selected to represent Florida at a youth forum on the environment this summer in Washington, D.C.

Molly Quinn is among 250 students selected as National Youth Delegates at the 2013 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University, according to a press release.

Quinn was chosen "based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in leadership in the sciences and conservation studies," organizers said.

The students will take part in an intensive, week-long study of environmental science and will be joined by distinguished faculty and guest speakers at the George Mason campus.

The Washington Youth Summit on the Environment will be held June 23-28.
