Five Things You Should Know Today
How to donate to fallen officers' families, Cirque de Casa Tina, Relay for Life and two more things.
1) Casa Tina Gourmet Mexican and Vegetarian Cuisine plays host to a Cirque show tonight (and every week) starting at 8 p.m. (and Sunday at 6 p.m.). We hear it’s quite the act as dancers and aerialists from Dance & Circus Arts of Tampa Bay frolic on Casa Tina’s ropes and hoops. Reservations required. Call 727-734-9226.
2) If you’re looking for a reason to go to the Dunedin Green Market, we suggest picking out some fresh peaches and making Chef Anne’s Peachy Blackberry Cobbler.
3) Sunny skies forecast for today, according to the National Weather Service. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen when you go outside to enjoy it.
4) If you’re interested in forming a Relay for Life team email Emily Wilson at Emily.Wilson@Cancer.org. A kickoff meeting will be held for team leaders at the Dunedin Community Center on Monday, Jan. 31. The annual Relay for Life event raises money for cancer research.
5) Want to do something for the families of the two fallen St. Petersburg police officers? Drop by any Wachovia Bank and make a donation to “The Jeffrey Yazslowitz/Thomas Baitinger Memorial Fund.” Dunedin has three locations: Wachovia on Bayshore Boulevard, Wachovia on Main Street and Wachovia on Patricia Avenue. You can also send a check to Suncoast Law Enforcement Charities, Inc. at 14141 46th Street North, Suite 1205, Clearwater, FL 33762.
