Free Skin Cancer Screenings for Melanoma Monday

Morton Plant Hospital is offering skin cancer screenings on Monday. Advance registration is required.

Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater is offering free skin cancer screenings to the public on Monday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those wishing to be screened are being asked to register in advance at 727-953-6877. Only exposed skin will be checked.

It is part of a national awareness campaign to stamp out melanoma, the nation’s most common cancer. Floridians are particularly at risk because of year-round sun exposure.

This is the 16th year that Morton Plant Mease as participated in “Melonoma Monday.”

Screenings will take place at Morton Plant Hospital in the Cheek-Powell Heart and Vascular Pavilion (meeting Rooms A and B), 455 Pinellas St. in Clearwater.
