Updated: Two Seriously Wounded in Home Invasion
A Dunedin couple are hospitalized after a home invasion turned violent early Monday morning. Authorities do not believe the incident is random.
A Dunedin residence with a history of drug-related police calls was invaded early this morning, leaving the residents hospitalized after a violent attack by the culprits.
Deputies report that at roughly 5:30 a.m. today, assailants entered the house on Chicago Avenue without forced entry. An altercation ensued, with a woman being pistol-whipped and a man stabbed, leaving both seriously wounded.
The two victims were transported to a local hospital, where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office stated the residence has a history of "drug-related calls" which, combined with the physical evidence at the scent, leads authorities to believe the incident was not random.

I rememeber when the first incident happened at this home not all that long ago. Afterwards the neighborhood watch newsletter printed an article about it and included the homes address and the (prescribed) drug that the owner had. It even had the drug name in bold print! Several of us had talked about it and worried that was just an invitation printed for all to see, to rob this place again!!

I have known these people for years - they are usually drunk by noon, and within the last year have been buying and selling pain pills - it was no secret to anyone that lived on the street. Always cars pulling up and leaving, different people in and out all the time at all hours. No one deserves to be attacked like this but they brought it on themselves
