Letter to the Editor: Signs May Help Douglas Avenue Businesses Affected by Road Construction
Sheryl Avruch says some extra signage may help point patrons to the Douglas Avenue businesses affected by a major construction project on their street.
Dear Editor,
We're approaching the end of Month 1 of road construction. Merchants are putting up with noise, dust, and — most importantly — lost revenue. The road signs help, but there's still a lot of confusion about how to get from Main St. to businesses on Douglas north of Main. I'd like to recommend large signs at both (or is it all?) ends of the detour, with the list of merchants "OPEN FOR BUSINESS."

Sheryl's is a really good suggestion. Signs would be a great help, especially for all the visitors and new Fl residents who may not be inclined to explore that section of Douglas St. because of the construction. Just think of the great beer and seafood they would miss out on!
