It's the day area beer lovers are buzzing about: Dunedin’s new microbrewery taps its first official batch on Saturday (Jan. 7).

Seventh Sun Brewing Company’s first pour was recently sold for $202.50 on eBay.com after 10 days of bidding, according to a recent press release.

The money goes to Homeless Emergency Project, a non-profit homeless shelter on North Betty Lane in Clearwater.

After months of anticipation, owners Devon Kreps and Justin Strange joined Dunedin's beer bar scene on Dec. 2. Decoration at 1012 Broadway was sparse at first and they weren't ready to sell any Seventh Sun brewed beer at the time, but they catered to a packed house. The owners have since added tables, chairs and signage.

The first official pour is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Jan. 7, and will not be without ceremony.
