Yar, No School for Students Friday

Looking for something for the kids to do?

Pinellas County Public Schools are closed to students Friday for a teacher work day.

Looking for something for the kids to do?

In Dunedin, Martin Luther King Jr Recreation Center is open to students from kindergarten to fifth grade for special pirate-themed games and activities — trivia challenges, walk the plank, a peg-leg stand off, and more. (International Talk Like a Pirate Day is celebrated Sept. 19; get in the spirit, talk like a pirate)

Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $25.

The MLK Rec Center can accomodate students as early as 7:30 a.m. or as late as 6 p.m., but for an $5 charge each.

Students must bring their own lunch.
