Pinellas County Schools Closed Monday

The district has canceled classes and before- and after-school activities due to the threat of Tropical Storm Isaac.

 

Pinellas County Schools and offices will be closed Monday, Aug. 27 due to the threat of Tropical Storm Isaac.

All before- and after-school activities and programs scheduled for Monday are also cancelled, the district announced Sunday morning.

Superintendent John Stewart and his staff are in close contact with Pinellas County Emergency Management and will continue to monitor Tropical Storm/Hurricane Isaac, the district said.

It is unknown if schools will be open Tuesday. When a decision is made, parents will be notified in the following ways:

  • Phone messages and e-mails to student families and employees
  • Information aired on WPDS-Channel 14 (located on Bright House Networks channel614, Knology channel 14 and Verizon channel 46)
  • Information shared with local TV, radio, print and online news outlets, including Patch.
