Sobriety Checkpoint Planned at Clearwater High
Pinellas County sheriff's deputies plan to conduct a sobriety checkpoint at Clearwater High School Friday night.
Harold Davis and Jason Hennis died after an impaired driver hit the motorcycle the two were riding Aug. 19, 2008.
Clearwater Police investigated, arresting and charging Jimmy Dunn, who had a history of DUI arrests.
Dunn was found guilty of DUI manslaughter and is serving 40 years in prison, according to state records.
As a memorial to Davis and Hennis, Pinellas County sheriff's deputies plan a sobriety checkpoint at Clearwater High School Friday night.
The checkpoint is planned from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. at the school which is located along busy Gulf to Bay Boulevard near Hercules Avenue.
Deputies will be looking for impaired drivers as well as cite those with equipment violations and those without a license, registration or insurance.
The sheriff's and Clearwater Police mobile command buses will be used to conduct breath testing and for processing anyone who is arrested.
