Fans of the longtime Tony's Pizzeria in downtown Clearwater will be happy to know the restaurant is expanding into Dunedin.

Owner Tony Starova is shooting for an October opening at 320 Main St., which was previously Darling Memories, a collectible and gift shop.

"It's going to take a little construction," he said.

Starova's expansion plans also include a beer bar in downtown Clearwater called Capitol Beer House.

Tony’s Pizzeria & Ristorante on Cleveland Street offers a large variety of Italian dishes, including pizzas, calzones, soups, salads and hot subs.

We are so happy that downtown Dunedin is gaining a casual pizza place. Even more pleased that it's an extension of Tony's in downtown Clearwater. Can't wait!

About time someone installed a pizza joint downtown! Any longer I would of had to do it myself...but sure glad Tony is. This is exactly the thing that has been missing from downtown....well, at least ONE of them. Over the years I've spoken to a lot of folks with their own ideas about the pizza joint Dunedin didn't have, and a lot of folks are going to be emotionally invested in this place's ability to do it right. My two cents? Make phenomenal pies, and keep the prices fair. Keep it real, Tony. You'll do great!
P.S. Not gonig to miss one less artsy-fartsy knick knack store at all.
