What to Know for Halloween Weekend in Dunedin

Here's everything you'll need to know for Halloween weekend in Dunedin.

 

If you're looking for some tricks or treats for the family this Halloween, here's what you'll need to know:

Friday, Oct. 26

Halloween in the Park

  • Where/When: Picnic area at Honeymoon Island State Park; 6-10 p.m.
  • Why Go? This 15th annual safe trick-or-treat alternative includes family-friendly games, activities for children, concessions, a haunted trail, and a scary haunted house. Bring bug spray; $10 a carload includes 10 game tickets.

Downtown Trick or Treating

  • When/Where: Downtown; 5-8 p.m.
  • Why Go? Main Street, Broadway and Douglas Avenue are closed for costumed children and their parents to trick or treat safely at downtown shops and merchants. Participating merchants will have a pumpkin in their window.

Trunk or Treat

  • Where/When: First United Methodist Church of Dunedin, 5-8 p.m.
  • Why Go? There'll be face painting, crafts and a fire truck, in conjunction with downtown trick or treating. Concessions available; Free

Trunk or Treat

  • When/Where: Church of The Good Shepherd, 5-8 p.m.
  • Why Go? Free bounce house, hotdogs, pumpkin painting and plenty of treats to go around, in conjunction with downtown trick or treating; Free

Films in the Park

  • When/Where: Pioneer Park, 8 p.m.
  • Why Go? Catch a free showing of classic "Horror of Dracula" downtown at dusk. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions available.

    Saturday, Oct. 27

    Halloween in the Park

    Halloween Happening

    • When/Where: Highlander Park and Dunedin Community Center; 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
    • Why Go? This event includes concessions, "Boo in the Zoo" with activities for children, and a Haunted Hayride with a Zombie Apocalypse theme; $10 wristband, $5 for parking (cash only), $5 for hayride. Proceeds benefit the Dunedin For Youth Scholarship Fund

    Pumpkin Patches

    Looking for that perfect pumpkin? Here are some spots in Dunedin, open all weekend:

    • Pumpkin Patch at St. Andrews; open daily through Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and noon to 8 p.m. on weekdays.
    • Pumpkin Patch at Kirk of Dunedin Church; open daily through Oct. 31, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
