We put together this list of local parties to help you plan out where you want to be when the ball drops. And don't worry, there's a celebration to suit almost everyone's taste.
Just be sure to either designate a sober driver or pre-program taxi numbers into your cell phone, if you'd rather.
Early Birds
New Year's Sunset Toast at Marker 8
- Why Go? Sunset toast includes champagne and party favors. Party starts at 5 p.m.
- Cost: No cover
'Farewell to 2012' Cocktail Party at Dunedin Golf Club
- Entertainment: Kathy Roberts on the piano
- Why Go? It's a cocktail party with drink specials, a champagne fountain, and hors d'oeuvres between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Call 727-733-2134, Ext. 210 for reservations.
- Cost: $25
Night Owls
Lucky 13 NYE Party at Blur Nightclub & Show Bar
- Entertainment: Simply Abigail, The Black Honkeys, DJ Gus
- Why Go? Complimentary party favors, balloon drop and champagne toast at midnight; doors open at 8 p.m. (Table reservations already booked.)
- Cost: $15
New Year's Eve at Rosie's Tavern
- Entertainment: Scotty Lee
- Why Go? Expect a low-key celebration with catered Italian food and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Doors open at 8 p.m.
- Cost: No cover
New Year's Eve at Two Lions Winery
- Why Go? Watch the ball drop and toast at midnight; 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Cost: No cover
New Year's Eve Dinner-Dance at VFW Post 2550
- Entertainment: CC's Music Machine
- Why Go? This party includes a prime rib dinner and an open bar. Plus, it's open to the public.
- Cost: $50; call 733-6107 to make a reservation.
New Years Eve Karaoke at Bauser's
- Entertainment: Karaoke with Andy Rogers
- Why Go? Enjoy free games, jukebox, pot luck, champagne toast until 1 a.m. No reservations necessary.
- Cost: No cover
- Entertainment: Hope Darling
- Why Go? Free champagne toast, free midnight buffet and free party favors.
- Entertainment: The New Rulers
- Why Go? Champagne toast at midnight and drink specials all night: $3 Pabst Blue Ribbon, $4 Bicardi Oakheart, and $4 Wild Turkey Honey, from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
