I want to tell you about a great mom. My mother-in-law. She is one of the most amazing women I have ever met and I consider myself blessed to be included in her family. She is a "stay at home" mom, who takes care of a 30 year old disabled man named Ryan Shane. She has dedicated her life to Ryan for years. Ryan has suffered from CP since child-hood and has been wheelchair bound for years and years. If it was not for the love and care that Rennette and all the family and friends give him, he would not be here. She is by no means a large woman, and she lifts that young man out of that chair probably 10 times a day without flinching. She has taught me much...the true meaning of dedication, and so much more. She deserves a special treat for mother's day. I love you Rennette and am blessed to have you as my mother-in-law! Roni

Kelli:

My mom is so brave. I moved here from Pennsylvania a year ago. 2 weeks after I moved here she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. She has done such a wonderful job of taking care of herself and fighting it I'm proud to say she is dooing wonderful . I know it kills her that me and my husband and her 2 grandkids are down here but she is doign such a great job and has been down here to visit us and will be coming down again in Oct. I am so proud of her for being so brave and strong!

Jodi Adams:

My mom left my father when I was 3 and my siblings were 2 and 1, it was a very abusive situation. She moved far from her home with 3 small children and worked several jobs to support us. Never did I feel I went without and she made sure every day to let us know how much she loved us. We lost my mom 8 years ago to cancer and every day I strive to be as an amazing mom as she was.

Roni Richman:

I have the most amazing mother! After being the sole bread winner in our house growing up, she had a baby at 38, raised a teenager and a toddler by herself, had a stroke at 42, and is still working and taking care of a special needs teenager. My mother doesn't understand the meaning of the words "no" and "can't". She makes me a stronger person as she was a great role model. Because of her I developed a great conscious which kept me out of trouble while others I knew were getting into trouble. I have always tried to do right by my mother but all she wanted from her kids was for us to be happy. With a mom like you, how could we not be! I love you, Mommy!

Diana Lynch:

My mom is the best! She reads me books at night and likes to put puzzles together with me. I don't have a job so anytime I buy gifts she has to give me the money. I would like to buy this gift all by myself. She likes chocolate and flowers and I want to take her out in a boat. Thank you

Nicolle Azar Thompson:

Today is my Mother's 70th Birthday so what better day to tell everyone how much I adore her. She has always been my biggest fan and true friend through even the rockiest of times. She gets instant cool points from smooching with Elvis as a young girl and that coolness continued into her adult life being the mom who loved me and had supported me even when I sported pink hair and black lipstick defending me like a lioness does her cub if anyone should so much as snicker at me. She shielded me from the struggle she had when we were left on our own in the late 80's with not even enough money to pay our electric bills or buy food. I was never the wiser to our struggles until later in life. She was the Mom who took in others whose parents did not approve or give them the love they needed. Always a shoulder to cry on and still is to this day.
The scariest day in my life was when she had a valve replaced in her heart and I realized that she is not immortal. I cherish every moment with her even more now!! She is strong, resilient, speaks her mind but is kind and giving. I am so proud to be her only child.

I have to add my Mum to all the wonderful mothers I've read about. She was the most wonderful woman in my life, and I just lost her in January to cancer. Her and my dad emigrated from Scotland and were so full of fun and adventure! She led by example and really did stop to smell the flowers. She was devoted to her family, nothing else really mattered - - and that she taught me! We took her to the Rocky Mountains and she made it to the top (by car, ha ha) on what turned out to be her last trip, and was so excited... said she could climb mountains! This Mother's Day will be very difficult, but I have two sons to be proud of! I'll post a picture of this lovely lass (Helen Brennan). Thank you for letting me share my Mum's story!

Laurie Suarez:

I have the most precious of Moms. Although she has too many medical ills to list, and all the pills to go along with them, she greets each day with a smile, and a sense of adventure. For the past few years, dementia has begun to rob her of her short term memory, and although she is aware of it, she addresses this affliction with grace, and a fabulous sense of humor. I visit Mom as often as I can, and the last thing she says as I'm leaving is "When will you be back?" My Mom is so precious.

Thanks to moms everywhere!
