Retiring to Dunedin/Palm Harbor

My partner and I are planning to visit the Dunedin/Palm Harbor area with plans to retire to the area in 2 years.  We have been researching the neighborhoods surrounding the Dunedin golf course, but I noticed tonight that Dunedin is very close to Palm Harbor.  I was looking for some suggestions on the pros and cons of both towns.  We're looking to be within biking distance of the beach and near the Pinellas trail.

Thank you.

Try Ozona on the coast of Palm harbor. They have the lowest crime rate. Bike to Honeymoon Island. Convenient to everything.

And the Pinellas trail runs right thru it.

Oh, I would definitely go with Dunedin over Palm Harbor. Small town feel, lots of events downtown, eclectic ambience, dog friendly, gay friendly, lovely shops and small incredible restaurants, run by a city gov't not the county commission like Palm Harbor.
Palm Harbor is too big and doesn't really feel like "home".
Ozona, on the other hand, is really cool like Jasminetea said.

Crystal Beach is paradise. on the trail, beautiful sunsets, great neighbors, public beach, park and fishing pier an active community organization and waterfront non denominational church. Last Sunday of the month, anyone who plays an acoustic instrument is welcome to join the circle on the beach and everyone is welcome to come listen and enjoy the sunset (glasses of wine have been known to be seen).
Downtown PH is around the corner,Dunedin and famous Tarpon Springs sponge docks are a few miles away on the jolly trolly...

You definately DO NOT want to choose St Mark Village in Palm Harbor. It is is continuing care retirement community with apartments, assisted living, and a nursing home. The place is a run down dump and the man who runs it is beyond incompent. Dunedin is nice and has a lot to offer
