Falcon Nation is an occasional feature on a fan found in the stands or on the sidelines at a Dunedin High School game.
A surprise guest speaker entered the locker room before the Falcons' Sept. 30 homecoming football game. "I had just sat down; it is kind of dark in there and I didn't realize it was him," lineman Dylan Gilroy said. Dylan, a soft spoken junior, sat motionless when he recognized the man. He hadn't seen the man in more than a year, and hadn't expected to see him for another day or two. "I got up and walked over to him and gave him a hug," Dylan said. On a night when there was very little cheer about, in a 40-11 loss to Lakewood, Amy Swiatek continued to wave her pom-poms and cheer on her favorite team. Amy, 10, is a fifth-grade student at San Jose Elementary School and attends all the Falcons games with her dad.
