SPIRIT CAFÉ
One of the fun things about a café is that the menu is usually diverse.  From October through March, Good Shepherd in Dunedin is embarking on its third season of novel Saturday evening services, called SPIRIT CAFÉ.   The Spirit  Café  menu this year includes a rotation of  worship styles each month, all in the context of celebrating the Eucharist.

On the menu week one of the month is Beer & Bible,  featuring a provocative theological topic discussed over a brew.  In addition to regular beer, we'll have root beer and, for Harry Potter fans, homemade Butter Beer.
Week two is a meditative service called   Icons, Candles and Chants - and the title pretty much says it all.
The third week is Pot Luck - which means you never know exactly what you'll get, but you're sure to have a variety of offerings, such as a drum circle, an outdoor Celtic service, a Spiritual Story Slam, and a Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long. These weeks, we'll also have a pot luck supper afterwards.
Finally, for "Saturday Night Live" on the fourth week, we're inviting local blue grass, jazz, and contemporary Christian musicians to help lead worship.

Be sure to check the church's website, http://www.churchgoodshepherd.org/ for details of each week's Spirit Cafe.

The Church of the Good Shepard celebrates a traditional Episcopal liturgy, and invites everyone to join for services. The first Episcopal service in Dunedin was conducted in Library Hall by Bishop Weed on December 28, 1886. The church's original chapel erected in 1888-89, and was located closer to the corner of Main Street and Edgewater Drive. The Church was later moved to its present site. It has been renovated and enlarged several times, but the original chapel still forms a part of the overall construction.
