Shhhh! Firefighter Training in Progress: Fire Dunedin Fire Department is again hosting North County firefighters in special training. North County firefighters will be in and out of the Dunedin Community Center for a hazardous materials course called "Propane Emergencies" this week (Sept. 4, 5, 6) and again next week (Sept. 10, 11, and 12).  

Playoff Baseball is Here!: The Dunedin Blue Jays challenge the Daytona Cubs tonight at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium for the Florida State League North Division title. Winner goes on to the league championship series, which will also be partly held in Dunedin. (Details.)

Property Tax Woes for Pinellas County?: 
A brouhaha is brewing between Pinellas and Pasco county officials over a delinquent tax bill of almost $60,000, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Pinellas owns nearly 12,500 acres of land in Pasco purchased long ago for its water supply. The land, known as the Cross Bar and Al Bar ranches, is now used for agricultural purposes. After years of paying taxes on the land, Pinellas has decided to stop, citing exemptions. Pasco begs to differ and wants its cash.
