Brews and Black Honkeys at BeerFest Saturday

The party attracted 500 last year. Proceeds benefit Dunedin's dog rescue and brewers guild groups.

What’s better than a night of bar hopping?

Having more than 70 of the finest brews gathered in one spot with taps (and bottles) wide open, that’s what. And that is exactly what you’ll find at BeerFest 2011, hosted by the at on Sept. 17 (5 to 9 p.m.).

BeerFest 2011 promises something for everyone — even kids and well-behaved leashed dogs. It features bouncy houses, food and wine vendors, live music by The Black Honkeys and the King of Cigars. Last year’s event drew a crowd of 500, and publicity coordinator Dawn Carney said she expects another impressive turnout. Proceeds support the Dunedin Doggie Rescue and the Dunedin Brewers Guild.
