Closed for the Fourth of July

Here are some things not to do on Independence Day.

Between barbecues and the beach, the should be a blast. But here are some things not to do Monday.

Do not try to go to City of Dunedin administrative or Pinellas County government offices in Clearwater. They are closed in observance of Independence Day.

The Sixth Judicial Circuit courts also will not be in session except for first-appearance advisory hearings and emergency situations.

The City of Dunedin Chamber of Commerce office is also closed.

As part of its normal operating schedule Heritage Village in Largo is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

And just nearby, Animal Services is also closed. However, the animal drop-off area outside will be open.

The Solid Waste Operations Administration Building and the Household Electronics and Chemicals Collection Center in St. Petersburg is closed. The scalehouse and landfill will be open.

The Environmental Education Center at Brooker Creek Preserve in East Lake and the Cultural and Natural History Center at Weedon Island Preserve in St. Petersburg is closed.

But all other county parks and preserves will be open during the holiday.

All city and county facilities will resume regular operating hours Tuesday, July 5.
