Clearwater drivers who plan to use the Courtney Campbell Causeway this week might want to be prepared to stop – and wait.

The Florida Department of Transportation says it will have daytime lane closures the week of Aug. 26 on the causeway as new pavement goes down. The closings will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to FDOT spokeswoman Kristen Carson.

“They will vary, but only one direction at a time and one lane at a time,” Carson said. She also noted that the closings will be west of the bridge.

Carson said those who intend to use the causeway during daytime might run into “significant delays” as a result of the ongoing work.
