Five Things To Look Forward To This Week (And One For Good Measure)

Lots of important or interesting events going on. We wouldn't want you to miss anything.

TUESDAY:

  • Voice your opinion at a Town Hall meeting to discuss Pinellas County's $21.5 million budget deficit. The meeting is at Dixie Hollins High School, 4940 62nd St. N. in St. Petersburg from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Yvonne McMorrough gives an informative presentation on Ireland's three major saints (Patrick, Bridgit and Malachi) at the , starting at 7 p.m. Arrive early (at 6:30 p.m.) and watch the sixth-grade play that won 's National History Day competition. It's 10 minutes and written and performed by two sixth graders.

THURSDAY:

  • It's St. Patrick's Day! We all know about 's big party on Main Street (owner Noel Cooney has been counting down the days), but we found other options, also. Log in on Thursday to see our Patch Picks for Patty's Day.

FRIDAY:

  • The Dunedin Concert Band plays classic melodies from around the world in two free concerts at the . Dr. Louis Alan Zagar leads "The Band Heard Round the World" in old favorites from the United States, Italy, Scotland, Ireland and Spain. First show is Friday at 8 p.m. and if you miss it, catch the matinee performance on Sunday at 3 p.m.

SATURDAY:

  • See seven Dunedin homes on the Dunedin Historical Society's biennial Tour of Historic Homes (some are on the national register). Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance at the Dunedin Historical Museum, the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, the Dunedin Public Library and the Enchanted Branch Gift Gallery.
  • Be a green volunteer! The Coastal Cleanup crew meets from 8 to 10 a.m. in the righthand parking area just after the drawbridge on the Dunedin Causeway. Bags, gloves and supplies are provided. If you want to bring a large group, call ahead to organizer David White at 727-812-4545. This is a event.
