Five Things You Need to Know Today

Here are today's "Five Things You Need to Know Today" for Monday, April 9.From

From dynamite weather to cheap gas to teaching toddlers how to read, here are Monday's "Five Things You Need to Know Today."

1. Weather: Should be a really nice day today. After bottoming out at 61 degrees last night, expect a sunny day with a high of 79, per the National Weather Service. Low tonight should be 60 under clear skies.

2. Cheapest gas: Per GasBuddy.com, the cheapest gallon of regular unleaded gas can be found at Super Shop, 1001 Broadway. There late last night, gas was $3.87 a gallon.

3. Ballroom dancing: Seniors who want to learn how to ballroom dance can do so at the Hale Senior Activity Center, 330 Douglas Ave. For $36, beginners can learn how to dance and savvy veterans can polish their moves.

4. Teach the kids to read: The Dunedin Library, 223 Douglas Ave., has a program that encourages youngsters to read. But unlike most other libraries, these youngsters are infants. The program is for children up to 18-months old to help develop early literacy. Songs are sung along with rhymes. This session opens at 10 a.m.

5. Senior fitness: The Hale Senior Activity Center, 330 Douglas Ave., hosts senior fitness sessions each Monday and Friday at 9 a.m. Cost is $3 per session.
