Five Things You Need to Know Today

Here are "Five Things You Need to Know Today" for Thursday, April 12. Hang in there folks, we are almost to the weekend.

1. Weather: After a pleasant night of 62, Thursday will be another postcard day full of sunshine and a high of 78 with mild breezes, so says the National Weather Service. Low once again Thursday night is expected to be 62.

2. Cheap gas: Dodge's Store, 409 Patricia Ave., currently has the cheapest gas in Dunedin per GasBuddy.com. Wednesday, a gallon of regular unleaded sold for $3.89 at Dodge's.

3. Teen Idol: Do you know any teenager who could be the next teen idol? If so, this competition should be forwarded. Open auditions for Teen Idol 2012 take place at the Dunedin Community Center, 1920 Pinehurst Road on Tuesday, April 17. Auditions for teen singers ages 13-18 are on a first-come, first-serve basis. The top 10 singers, as decided by a panel of judges, will advance to the finals in May. Aubrey Wollet of Dunedin is a recording artist who was first discovered competing in Teen Idol.
