Five Things You Should Know Today

Know what's up before you finish your coffee.

  1. The play the Philadelphia Phillies today at Stadium. Game starts at 1:05 p.m.
  2. Yvonne McMorrough gives an informative presentation on Ireland's three major saints (Patrick, Bridgit and Malachi) at the Dunedin Public Library, starting at 7 p.m. Arrive early (at 6:30 p.m.) and watch the sixth-grade play that won Dunedin Highland Middle School's National History Day competition. It's 10 minutes and written and performed by two sixth graders.
  3. Weather: Sunny day, with a high near 75, according to the National Weather Service. Bring your sunglasses and maybe a sweater for the morning and late afternoon.
  4. No taxation without representation! County Commissioners are having a town hall meeting tonight to discuss the budget. This is your chance share ideas and input with commissioners about how to handle the $21.5 million deficit. Should they raise taxes or cut programs? The meeting is at Dixie Hollins High School, 4940 62nd St. N. in St. Petersburg from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  5. Get'cher tickets for the Dunedin Historical Society's Tour of Historic Homes on Saturday, March 19. Seven Dunedin homes are on the tour, some are on the national register. Tickets are $20 at the Dunedin Historical Museum, the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, the Dunedin Public Library and the Enchanted Branch Gift Gallery.
