Five Things You Should Know Today

Happy Monday! It can be tough to get back into the groove after a beautiful weekend, but with these five things, we think you'll have an easier time of it.

  • It’s Highland Games Week! There's something to look forward to every day. Tomorrow’s Scottish-themed event: The Scottish American Society hosts a dinner of traditional mince and tatties at 917 Louden Ave. Seating is at 6 p.m., dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $17.
  •  April is oral cancer awareness month. Make sure you’re up to date on your dental check-ups!
  • Plan ahead now, for an early morning on Wednesday. Channel 10 is filming its morning show “Why Do They Call It That?” at the from 5 to 7 a.m. The City of Dunedin encourages all interested (and caffeinated) citizens to come out and really enhance the “Today Show” atmosphere.
  • Another no-miss Wednesday activity: The New World Celts host a whiskey tasting at at 7 p.m. Cost is $25.
  • Today’s Weather: It’s heatin’ up. Remember to stay hydrated. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85, according to the National Weather Service.
