With a three-day weekend ahead, there are plenty of family-friendly activities to do.

Juggling your responsibilities and entertaining the kids is no easy task. Dunedin Patch is coming to the rescue with the top family-friendly activities in the area.

  • Why Go? Join other children ages 7 to 12 for a lesson in Japanese culture.

  • Where/When: , 420 Main St., Dunedin; Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Why Go? Come see the crowning of Miss Dunedin Orange Queen, participate in the mojo-pork cookoff or enjoy the music, parade and kids' activities all day.
  • Pricing: Free

  • Where/When: Tropicana Field, 1 Tropicana Drive, St. Petersburg. Sunday. Game starts at 1:40 p.m., concert immediately follows.
  • Why Go? Every kid loves The Wiggles! Celebrate their 20th birthday with a Rays game and free concert.
  • Pricing: The concert is free; game tickets start at $22.50


  • Where/When: , 373 Douglas Ave., Dunedin. Sunday at 4 p.m.
  • Why Go? Celebrate Independence Day with baseball, music and fireworks! Greg Billings Band will perform a two-hour concert after the game, and then the fireworks display begins.

Safety Harbor Independence Day Parade

  • Where/When: Main Street, Downtown Safety Harbor. Monday at 10 a.m.
  • Why Go? Check out our neighbors in Safety Harbor as they celebrate the holiday with a parade, food and activities for the kids.
