Reader: Coyote Seen on the Dunedin Golf Course

Barbara Lehr shares her video of a coyote she saw recently in Dunedin. 

"We named him 'Cal' and Cal the Coyote was wandering around the Dunedin Golf Course on Tuesday, May 7," Lehr writes on Dunedin Patch.

Coyotes have been seen around Dunedin in recent months. The "highly adaptable animals" first came to Florida in the 1970s, according to Pinellas County Animal Services.

Animal Services provides tips to keep your children and pets safe such as not leaving pet food outside and not leaving young children unattended in the yard.

If a coyote is an imminent threat Pinellas County Officials recommend calling 911.

Residents can also report coyote sightings by filling out an online form. The county keeps a map of where people have seen coyotes, which is color-coded by year.
