TriRock Triathlon to Pass Through Dunedin

The swim, bike and run Land Rover TriRock Clearwater Triathlon race is set for Sunday, Nov. 11.

Participants and spectators of the Land Rover TriRock Clearwater Triathlon will fill the streets, beach and Gulf of Mexico for the inaugural race Sunday.

The race is a musical marathon with live bands along the swim, bike and run courses as well as a post-race party and concert.

The race features a beach start and open water swim near Pier 60, a bike ride through the beaches and downtown Clearwater and a run along south beach and over the Memorial Causeway Bridge.

The intermediate bike route will see bicyclists heading north on Hercules Avenue, west on Virginia Avenue, south on Keene Road and west on Union Street in Dunedin before heading south back to Clearwater.

It starts at 6:50 a.m. with sprint and intermediate distance events as well as a three-person triathlon relay.

The sprint race includes a 500-meter swim, 12-mile bike ride and three mile run. The intermediate course includes a 1,500-meter swim, 24-mile bike ride and six mile run.

Parking is available at the Clearwater Municipal Marina, Pier 60, other nearby lots as well as street side.

Race schedule Sunday:

5 a.m. – Transition area apens
6:30 a.m. – Transition area closes
6:35 a.m. – Pre-race talk
6:50  a.m. – Intermediate race start (subject to change)
7:20 a.m. – Sprint race start
9:30 a.m. – Main stage opens for Finish Festival performance
11 a.m. – Award ceremony
11:30 a.m. – Main stage reopens for band’s second set
12:30 a.m. – Bikes must be removed from transition area
