Helicopter Egg Drop has Kids Scrambling

The City of Dunedin had an egg hunt with a unique twist. Eggs were dropped from 20 feet in the air from a helicopter.

Kids in Dunedin were treated to a unique egg hunt this past Saturday.

Two helicopters hovered over Highlander Park and dropped eggs onto the field where excited children ran to scoop them up.

The event attracted a larger amount of guests than what was expected. Due to issues with the drop, the City of Dunedin released an apology on their Facebook page.

The City of Dunedin extends our sincere apologies to anybody that attended the egg drop today and was disappointed. We were overwhelmed with the turnout. This was a first event for us of this type and we are open to suggestions on how to better improve for next year. Thank you for your attendance, patience and understanding!

Did you go to the egg drop? If so, what did you think? Let us know in the comments.
