Burns Bust Sought for Dunedin

Through current fundraising efforts the Dunedin Public Library should have its own bust of the Scottish poet by April.

Libraries in Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Tampa have Robert Burns busts. But Dunedin with its Scottish heritage does not yet have its own life-sized bronze cast of the Scottish poet in its library. Foundation is working to get a bust

The Dunedin Public Library hopes to unveil the poet's bust in April during National Library Week and right before the Dunedin Highland Games, said Dunedin Library Director, Phyllis Gorshe.

This Saturday, Jan. 21 at there will be a special Kilt Night fundraiser for the Burns project. The Dunedin New World Celts hope to help raise money to offset the approximately $8,000 cost for the sculpture.
