The Second Annual Scotoberfest will be held at the Stirling Commons building in Dunedin on Friday October 21st from 5pm to 11pm and Saturday October 22nd  from noon to 11pm.  Admission is free and open to the public.

Food & drink, music, shopping and a pumpkin patch are the focus of this fun weekend festival which highlights the Scottish heritage of the Dunedin community.

A special scavenger hunt called “Find the Stein” will lead visitors through each of the merchants in the building.  Every shop has a hand painted stein to commemorate Scotoberfest 2011, which guests will have to locate.  After guests find each stein, they will be entered in a raffle to win a grand prize provided by the merchants.

The local band Stiff Upper Lip, an AC/DC tribute band, will be performing Friday night from 8pm to 11pm.  Tampa’s Celtic fusion band Lucid Druid will perform Saturday night from 8pm to 11pm.  Lucid Druid plays original music with a contemporary Celtic sound, featuring bagpipes, guitar, double bass, and celtic drums.

Dallas the Fire Guy, a juggling, fire-eating and fire-breathing performer, will be working his fire magic and comedy Friday evening.  Other local entertainers will be on stage Saturday during the day.  The Dunedin Doggie Rescue group will be present with dogs who are currently available for adoption, as well as information on adopting and fostering dogs.  The entire event is pet-friendly.

Scotoberfest is sponsored by Art From the Heart Café, Broadway Deli & Café, The Candy Bar, Dragonfly Garden, Dunedin Beads, J. Kokolakis Contracting, Lead Lines Stained Glass Studio, Rosie’s Tavern and the Stirling Art Studios.
