Rock Bands, Craft Beer Highlight Dunedin Celtic Festival Saturday

Catch Scottish Pipe Bands and some of the best Celtic rock bands in North America, including Seven Nations, Arvel Bird and Enter the Haggis, at Highlander Park on Saturday. Here's what to know if you go.

Rock 'n' roll, bagpipes, craft beer and Celtic culture unite Saturday at Highlander Park.

Dunedin's 14th annual Celtic Festival features some of the most renowned Celtic rock bands in North America, Dunedin's award-winning Scottish pipe bands and enough Celtic-inspired craft brews to keep people rockin' in their kilts until the last act.

Here's five things to know if you go:

1. When/Where: Noon to 9:30 p.m. (gates open at 11 a.m.) at Highlander Park, 1920 Pinehurst Road, Dunedin

2. Parking: Available adjacent to Dunedin Fine Art Center.

3. Band Schedule:

Main Stage —

  • Noon — Dunedin High School Scottish Highlander and Dunedin Highland Middle School Band 
  • 12:15 p.m. — Arvel Bird (Celtic fusion recording artist)
  • 1 p.m. — Brother (Celtic tribal rock band, known for incorporating bagpipes, and an Australian didgeridoo)
  • 2 p.m. Enter the Haggis (An indie Scottish folk rock band from Canada)
  • 3 p.m. Seven Nations (a Celtic rock band out of Orlando)
  • 5:15 p.m. — City of Dunedin Pipe Band
  • 5:45 p.m. — Arvel Bird
  • 6:30 p.m. — Brother
  • 7:30 p.m. — Seven Nation
  • 8:30 p.m. — Enter the Haggis

West Stage —

  • 4 p.m. — Dunedin High School Scottish Highlander and Dunedin Highland Middle School Band 

4. What to Bring:

  • Bring: Cash and credit card for food and Celtic craft vendors and an appetite for craft beer from sponsors Dunedin Brewery, Tampa's Cigar City Brewing, Highland Brewing Company and Narragansett.
  • Leave at Home: Coolers, tents or umbrellas.

5. Admission: $15 at the door; free for children under 12 (with a paying adult).
