What to Know for the Funedin Lip Dub Video

A Facebook group dubbing itself "Funedin" is orchestrating a music video that everyone can participate in on Jan. 29.

All that lip-syncing into a hairbrush microphone is about to pay off. 

A Facebook group calling itself Funedin, organized by several merchants, is welcoming lip-syncing extras and volunteers for a choreographed lip dub video of rock group R.E.M.’s “Shiny Happy People” downtown Sunday, Jan. 29 (8 to 11 a.m.)

Here’s what to know:

1) WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: Everyone! You don’t have to have a shred of musical talent. You just need to be 18 or older (unless you bring a parent or guardian) and be able to lipsync R.E.M.’s “Shiny Happy People.”

2) WHAT TO WEAR: Bright colors and wacky costumes are strongly encouraged (watch the video above for inspiration). Clothing or accessories with logos (think sports teams, brands, etc.) are not permitted (unless it says “Dunedin”).

3) WHEN: Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m.; rehearsal begins at 8 a.m. and filming goes until 11 a.m.

4) WHERE TO GO: Filming will take place on Main Street between Douglas Avenue and Broadway. If you are wearing a costume, check-in at the parking lot next to . If you are wearing street clothes, check-in at the parking lot behind .
