Chamber Accepting Nominations for Annual Awards

The Dunedin Chamber of Commerce is soliciting nominations for the coveted "Business of the Year" and "Delightful Dunedin" awards. Find out how to nominate your business.

Editor's Note: This is an Oct. 2 email blasted to Dunedin Chamber of Commerce members from Lynn Wargo, Chamber president.

Should your Business be named Business of the Year? Do you have a nomination for the coveted Beatrice Donoghue Delightful Dunedin Award?

The Dunedin Chamber of Commerce annually honors businesses in our community that have excelled in their respective industry. Your company, or the one you nominate, may have the opportunity to join the long list of distinguished winners that have been honored over the past many years.

Finalists are judged on business growth, innovativeness of product or service, response to adversity, community involvement and more. Awards are presented in three categories of gross revenues:

  • Under $1 million
  • $1 to $5 million
  • Over $5 million

The winners in each category are announced at the Chamber’s annual meeting in November.

Nominees must complete the attached application and all information is kept confidential. Since you know your company better than anyone else, you are encouraged to nominate your business! Or pick one that you admire. Only Chamber member companies that have been in business a minimum of three years are eligible.

A very special person is recognized at the Annual Dinner for years of giving and service to our community. In January 2012, Dan Massaro was added to the list of Delightfuls. This is now your opportunity to offer nominations for Dunedin’s most prestigious award, the Beatrice Donoghue Delightful Dunedin Award.

Nominations for the award should recognize years of community service to Dunedin. Involvement activities should be outside the candidate’s occupation and the candidate should be a Dunedin resident.

A nomination form for the Beatrice Donoghue Delightful Dunedin Award is also attached.
