Seems Spoto's Steak Joint has closed its doors.

The longstanding steak, rib and seafood restaurant at 1280 Main St. is up for sale and priced to go, a sign outside says.

Owner Jimmy Stewart's other venture, Bascetti's Italian Grille in 580 Plaza, is still serving hungry customers a few blocks east.

They always looked busy to me. Where Bascettis always appears empty!

Bascettis is good also... are they staying open?

Can someone find out why they closed. It was an institution in Dunedin for so many years. Although they have their other restaurant south of here, but that does not do us Northern Pinellas County residents any good. Sorry to see them go....

They are revamping the menu at Bascetti's to include some of the Spoto's favorite's...Its always sad to see a family owned business close...Bascetti's will have the best of both

Ask the owner of the building. I think you will find out why you lost this wonderful restaurant. Bascetti,s is great. I go there every week.

We enjoyed eating there for many years. However, the moldy smell (perhaps from the a/c system?) made it less enjoyable in the past year or so. We will miss their game cuts and carrot cake.

Bascetti's is a hidden Gem! We had a great dinner with a killer bottle of wine chosen by the manager. Our server was very charming and it made our experience top-notch.

Jimmy- although my illness has kept us from coming to see you I think of you often and miss the laughs - the good times and the " cheers " atmosphere and of course the wonderful meals. Please let Preston know we hope he is finishing school and look forward to the day we can see you again and eat all the bread pudding you can make. Michael & Mary Kern
