Gun Show Request Triggers Swift Reply from Dunedin Leaders

uBidGuns LLC wants to host gun and knife shows at the Dunedin Community Center.

It was high noon in Dunedin, when local officials got word that a Florida dealer hoped to hold gun and knife shows at the Dunedin Community Center.

The Tampa Bay Times is reporting that Dunedin leaders were swift to say: "No way."

A rep from uBidGuns LLC had emailed the city of Dunedin to inquire about hosting a gun and knife show at the Dunedin Community Center on weekends every other month.

According to the Tampa Bay Times: “Agree not a good fit, wrong message sent. Think quality of life,” was the response from Bob Ironsmith, economic development director.

His reaction was echoed by City Manager Rob DiSpirito and Bonnie Steinberg, interim human resources and risk manager.

According to CorportationWiki, uBidGuns LLC is a new, Florida-based business that was incorporated on March 1, 2013. It is based in Aventura, with Steven Barrow listed as the registering agent and officer.

uBidGuns already has a gun and knife show scheduled for West Palm Beach at the end of June. According to MyFloridaGunShow.com, the uBidGuns also offers a gun permitting course at its weekend events.

Its biggest business, however, seems to be with online trading – hence the name uBidGuns.

The website is just four months old but already gets gets around 2,545 different visitors per day and 33,272 pageviews, according to AllStatsWizard.com.

According to the uBidGuns.com website, among its more popular items for sale ar AK-47s, Ruger Double Actio Revolvers and .32 Pistols.
