It’s Official: Frenchy’s Closes Deal on Island Outpost
Frenchy's Corporate will take over operations at the Dunedin restaurant.

Frenchy’s purchase of the Island Outpost is official Tuesday.
The sale marks the first venture outside Clearwater Beach for the successful, 30-year local restaurant chain. Island Outpost, known for it’s Key West-style vibe, is Frenchy’s fifth official restaurant. It is the first new restaurant Frenchy's Corporate has welcomed into the chain since Frenchy’s South Beach Cafe in 2003, a news release states.

Frenchy’s announced plans for taking over the popular Dunedin Causeway restaurant Tuesday afternoon in the release:
“Frenchy’s plans to operate the Island Outpost 'as is' for a short time, then incorporate a few of the Frenchy’s signature menu items, such as the grouper sandwich and she crab soup. During that time, Frenchy’s staff will be finalizing renovation plans, completing the new menu, and integrating operational procedures to eventually make the full transition to operating as a Frenchy’s restaurant later this year.”

The latest Frenchy's Dunedin Causeway location will maintain some of its original feel, Frenchy’s spokeswoman Jen Carlisle promises of the transition:
“While many of our signature items do appear on all four of our current restaurants’ menus, each place has a large variation of food and drink offerings, as well as unique ambiance, entertainment and seating options that compliment its location," she said in the news release. "This same customization process will be carried out in the new restaurant — it’ll be completely Frenchy’s, uniquely Dunedin.”Island Outpost management said issued its farewell to patrons in a Facebook post on Saturday:
