Missing: Beloved Scotsman Angus

The iconic wooden cutout of a bearded Scotsman, who greets customers in front of Lynn Thorn's downtown retail store The Celtic Shop of Dunedin, went missing Saturday.

Lynn Thorn says she is heartbroken to lose Angus.

The iconic wooden cutout of a bearded Scotsman went missing Saturday from The Celtic Shop of Dunedin. Thorn reported Angus, who greets customers in front of her downtown retail store, missing in a "Lost & Found" announcement on Dunedin Patch Dec. 2.

The announcement reads:

My Scotsman Angus was stolen Saturday night from in front of the Celtic Shop of Dunedin. I am heartbroken to lose him. If anyone has any information could they please contact Lynn Thorn at the shop, 727-733-2200.

Thorn holds out hope for Angus' safe return.

The Celtic Shop is just north of Main Street next to the Pinellas Trail and behind Café Alfresco. The shop has been open since 2005.

The shop specializes in Celtic products representing all the Celtic Nations of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Isle of Man and Brittany, and carries an array of merchandise, including china and pottery, clothing, fragrances, soaps, jewelry, and gifts.
