On the Road With Dunedin Brewery

A one-of-a-kind mobile version of the Dunedin Brewery will soon be traveling across the country.

Dunedin residents of a certain age may recall with fondness Jack Kerouac's "On the Road," a most unusual American travelogue.

The folks at Dunedin Brewery are about to embark on their own road trip across the U.S. Their adventure will be just as unusual — but for a different reason.

They are taking Dunedin Brewery with them, or a mad-scientist version of the brewery that should yield the same great-tasting brews. It just will be pulled on a trailer.

The kickoff for this road trip is Dunedin Brewery's 17th anniversary on July 6, 2013. Folks will be able to walk around and admire this mobile brew pub in person before it hits the road.

At the very least, it will be a head turner as Dunedin's mobile brewery takes a months-long journey to an elite brewers festival in Portland, OR, with stops at pubs in Chicago, San Diego, Missoula, MT, and other places along the way.

Dunedin Brewery aims to "push the creative limits, share Florida culture and bring back what we find along the way," said Christopher Williams, reached by phone Thursday at the brewery.

"We'll be brewing beer across America and hooking up with a lot of brewers," he said.
