Around 40 new jobs are expected to come to Pinellas County soon as PODS announced today it is expanding and moving its headquarters in Pinellas County, according to a news release.

PODS will continue to operate its office in Clearwater but will expand its headquarters to the third and fourth floors of the Feather Sound Corporate Center.

"Our growth and our desire to provide a great place to work for our associates has driven our need for expansion," said John Koch, PODS President and CEO, in a news release. "Moving our corporate headquarters into the larger location in Feather Sound also allows us to expand the size of our National Sales and Service Center at our current location.

"We are very excited about our relocation and are happy to be staying in Pinellas County," he Koch added.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott said the company chose to remain in Florida because of the state's business friendly environment.

"PODS considered other locations like Georgia, but they liked what Florida had to offer," Scott said in a statement. "This is great news for Pinellas County and the state of Florida and we look forward to PODS continued growth in the Sunshine State."

"We're very pleased that PODS selected Pinellas County, and that they are planning to create new jobs in our community," said Pinellas County Commission Chair Ken Welch.
