Raise a Mug at Dunedin's Breweries to Craft Beer Week

Dunedin's breweries are tapping a different, handcrafted beer every day this week. Wait till you try the unusual brew Thursday.

American Craft Beer Week is flying by, and a lot of locals did not even know it had arrived.

From May 13-19, small and independent craft brewers in the U.S. are being recognized and celebrated.

But there's still time to show your support and quaff a locally made brew. Dunedin Brewery, at 937 Douglas Ave., is making it easy.

Each day this week, the local pub has been serving a different handcrafted beer. Today's offering sounds particularly intriguing: Calypso Ginger Brown Ale.

In fact, if you pony up to the bar at lunchtime, the beer is on tap.

According to the Brewery's Facebook page, "each of our brewers came up with a unique concoction to tap at the beginning of each day." Calypso Ginger is Ricky's brew. So when you hoist a mug, be sure to thank Ricky.

7venth Sun Brewing is also running specials. The popular microbrewery on Broadway tapped Rum Barrel Aged Temerity Fort on Thursday.

According to its Facebook page, "We also still have some Minor Threat on tap if you missed it yesterday. Come get it while you can!"
