Steve's Produce In Dunedin Now Serves Gelato

Steve's Produce & Market now serves gelato, a cold Italian dessert similar to ice cream.

Gelato has only been on the menu seven days, but Steve Paschopoulos says it's already a hit.

Paschopoulos said he searched far and wide for the best gelato to serve at his mostly indoor family-run produce store at 2058 Bayshore Blvd.

Paschopoulos branched out to Dunedin in November 2012 from his family's longtime roadside stand in Palm Harbor. He opened an expansion in the front part of his story just seven days ago that allowed him to move the Boar's Head deli meat section from the cramped rear to a roomier area up front, creating space for gelato, a cold Italian dessert similar to American ice cream.

Paschopoulos carefully selected the cold treat from a Tampa-based, Italian company called Stefano's Gelato. He also carries JJ Gandy's Pies and desserts.

Produce fans need not worry, he still carries a wide array of fresh fruits and vegetables from Florida, California, South America and Mexico.
