Miss Mardi Gras Crown Goes to Jaeda Fuentes

Bob Moore and Jaeda Fuentes were chosen to be Mardi Gras King and Queen at the Miss Mardi Gras Pageant at Blur Nightclub on Feb. 12. They will be in the Mardi Gras Parade on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Dunedin came out in all its glamour to watch the Miss Mardi Gras Pageant at Blur Nightclub on the cold night of Feb. 12.

Legendary Melanie Minyon hosted alongside reigning Miss Mardi Gras Amanda d’Rhod and Natasha Richards. The packed night was a blast for everyone (except one guy who had to be put in a time-out).

Pageant judges La’Darius Belcher, Hannah Kelly, Patty Kelly, Kathy Jewel and Richards resided over contestants Ashlee Bangkx from Fort Myers, Delores T Van-Cartier from Lakeland, Naomi Wynters from Tampa, and Jaeda Fuentes from St. Petersburg.

Fuentes, who performs every other Friday at Blur, had that effervescent “it” factor that won her the 2012 Miss Mardi Gras Pageant crown.

Fuentes joins King Bob Moore in the 2012 Mardi Gras Parade on Feb. 21.

The event was sponsored by BlurKelly’sChic-a-Boom Room, Bacardi,Main Street HairDunedin Lanes, Q and the Downtown Merchants Association.

With our nations' urgent need to overhaul the health care system and each persons' need to deal withRead More increasing health care costs/decreasing quality of care, volunteering for SHINE could be part of the answer. The more you know, the better equipped you are to make postive changes for yourself and others. If, like me, you feel frustrated with the FL Legislature which seems to be working against us rather than for us; volunteering with organizations that educate the public in essential areas of concern can be an effective way to create grassroots changes. SHINE offers exceptional training and effectively updates it's volunteers regarding changes in the healthcare system. Sign up for thier training and you're sure to want to pass on what you learn to others.
